Eat Your Vegetables

Veggie Wash is made of natural ingredients from corn, coconut, lemon and grapefruit seed extract. It contains no harsh chemicals.

If you do not want to buy it you can certainly make your own - I like the convenience of having it already made.

You can  mix 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar, and 1 cup cold tap water, shake well, and apply to your produce. Rinse well.   Or........
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice to 2 Tablespoons of baking soda with 1 cup of water. Spray and  let sit for a few minutes then rinse. Put these in your own spray bottle.  Or.....
Grow your own?

Better safe than sorry I feel. While our vegetables are still in the field they are controlled with petroleum-based pesticides and other agricultural chemicals that are specifically engineered to be waterproof so they won't wash off with rain or irrigation.  Most are also treated with a wax coating so they will look pretty and shiny and prolong shelf life! The wax coating traps chemicals and other contaminants.  Field workers, transportation workers, grocers, other shoppers - an average of more that 20 strangers handle your food before you put it in your cart.  Of course, I don't run out and buy this  . . . . I have to order it online.

how we deal . . . .
